What happens if you flush a macerator during a power cut.

I fitted one for someone who told me that the macerator was leaking but it turns out he flushed during a power cut.
Obviously it wouldn't do what its meant to do but would it overflow somehow? I'd have thought the bowl would just fill up.
 
The water does not pump out, so you have a chance of if toilet the water will fill the pan and the macerator will fill with water, as cannot go nowhere.
