Main earthing of cold inlet pipe.

Could anyone please clarify this for me...I have a cold inlet pipe some 6 metres away from the consumer unit and main earth block..what size of earth cable should i use to earth here?Is 6mm enough or 10mm??

It depends of the type of supply you have, and the size of the tails to your consumer unit.

It will most likely require a 10mm² earth.

6mm² is no longer big enough.
 
There are 16mm tails.The earth block is connected to an earth cable appearing from the same place as the main feeds to the main fuse ,so am i right in assuming this is T-NS?
 
Certain calculations are needed to determine the minimum size you would need in order to satisfy BS7671, it would probably be easier to install 10mm seeing as the run is only 6 metres.
