Hi all,

After 5 years or so, I’m finally having some issues with my Main Eco Elite System 24 boiler.

Initially, the boiler wasn’t firing up when there was a demand for heating/hot water. A plumber came around and replaced the pump, which seemed to resolve the issue.

However, a few days later, the boiler started making loud vibrating noises, which it wasn’t doing before (see video).

I did think it might be air trapped in the system, so I bled the radiators, but no air came out.

Any advice would be appreciated!

I can’t watch the video due to an out of date system/browser. Was the pump fitted in the boiler or on the system? Have you contacted the said plumber?

I would be straight back to the plumber on this one, that repair should still be under his call back. A vibration that only started after a new pump went in usually means the new pump is running too hard for the system or the speed setting is higher than the old one. It is worth asking what pump he fitted and getting him to check the speed setting and to bleed the pump body itself, not just the rads. Running it like that will shorten the life of the bearings, so do not leave it.

Thanks both, unfortunately he hasn't been responding back to my calls or texts :( I have attached the pics sent of the previous pump and what he had installed

The one installed seems to be the grundfos 15-60 UPM 3
