Hi , I am making a workshop ( 10 x 8 )from concrete sectional panels ( the bolt together ones) I am stuck at how to make a roof for it. Looking at using 6x2 roof beams but don't know how to fix them to the panels, do I buy joist hangers and drill into the panels (which to me do not seem thick enough to hold) stuck for ideas ...

Hi there,

If your panels are similar to mine you could bolt some timbers to the tops and cut notches out for the joists and skew nail them. Mine is absolutely solid - I used some old 3x3" fence posts for the tops and 4x2" for the joists. I then used the offcuts from the joists to make noggins to brace it.

Have a look on here. That's how I did if anyway, mine was also 8x10ft and I created a fall from back to the front and added some guttering.

Still rock solid years later :)

Hope that helps,
