Hi, having just moved into a new (to us) property we are renovating the kitchen. We’ve removed the old ceramic tiles, and have removed the remaining tile adhesive using a wallpaper steamer. The walls aren’t bad, but have patches of old paint on them which will show through when we get round to painting. I realise that the best way to proceed would be to have the walls skimmed, but being on a tight budget, is there a way that we can smooth the walls ourselves.
Cheers

Watch plastering videos and have ago.
Bit of sandpaper and filler after If you make mistakes

Other way is to skim it with toupret powdered filler and sand smooth.
I've done that one walls that didn't need a plaster skim.
2kg box will go along way
