making the loft look bigger

What's the best way to make my loft conversion look bigger using colours

I read somewhere that using light or dark colours on the end walls can help, but which way round?
The room has 2 velux on the front and 1 at the back and it's already quite a light room

I would just like to get it looking as large as possible

Any suggestion gratefully received

empty it out and paint it white with a large mirror at one end
