makita 3.0ah nimh battery

hi one of my makita 3.0ah nimh battery's is playin up, i fully charged it as usuall and tried to use it in my jiggy, and it was like it was flat, barely any power, then suddenly full power for a couple of minutes, then just about dead again, does the same in my drills too, also it stayed hot after charging for about three hours, is there anything i can do to fix it, eg fully discharge then fully rechatge?

this happened on my cordless drill mtx version,felt like the packs were about to melt through the plastic.

think the cells are fubared m8,when mine cooled down i tried recharging but it didnt last long at all.

thanks for the help, definatley not the news i wanted to hear, its only a couple of months old.
one of my drills an mxt too, seems to really kill the batts for some reason
