Earlier recommendations suggested as the oven can draw just over 12 amps, having a good quality plug that can handle heat over a longer period of time would be better than a bog standard plug.
I have run those MK tough plugs constantly at nearly 16A, for 3 days until the fuse blew. Very little damage to the plug, so I would say they are good for high loads (other plugs showed damage).
The MK plugs have those nice screw terminals, which give a good contact between the wire and terminal.
The toughplugs are large, which makes is easyer to get the heat resistant cable into.
Maybe the size helps with heat disapation.

Yes, having a 'good quality' plug is certainly desirable, particularly for a heavy load.
However,I don't think that 'tough plugs' (from any manufacturer) are any more electrically satisfactory (good quality') than the same manufacturer's 'standard' plugs - they are simply designed to be more resistance to mechanical damage due to 'rough handling', which obviously will not be the case with one supplying an oven.
Apologies for bumping such an old thread but I currently have this exact model of oven (AEG BEX335011M) on order and, on rereading the full specifications, am also puzzled at the recommended 15A fuse for a 2790 wattage as I know my oven socket (hard) wiring is 13A.
I have paid for installation but am concerned they will refuse to do it and it will have to be returned with my losing that few plus, of course, not having an oven.
Has anyone experience with this situation to advise me as I'm seriously considering just cancelling the order and going with a different brand but don't want to as it does look to be a good oven at a reasonable price.
