MAPP vs Propane for copper pipe soldering... what do you prefer and why?
 
I use both. Soldering big end feed fittings or to braze fridge line-sets I'll use MAPP. Small domestic stuff I use propane.
 
I just arc weld anything bigger than 22mm, tig weld the 15mm.
 
You're not allowed to solder oil pipes, compression fittings only
 
No - just coarse

and what I meant was jh75 has all the makings of a troll - gas, oil dumb questions etc.
 
I used to use MAPP, and got fed up burning the skirting boards when I got distracted, so have gone over to propane to get a cooler flame that seems to work just as well.
