Hi, just found this forum when searching for how to clean an acrylic bath...

I bought a a white acrylic bath but it has these odd markings, almost like two sets of tracks, on the floor. I tried cleaning with simple soap in case it was just dirt but as I expected they appear to be markings on the bath itself... I guess it was dragged on something perhaps.

I tried to get a photo but it is hard as the light has to be caught just right:

I'd rather not return the bath if it's a trivial issue which can be fixed with a different cleaning technique, as I have no bath in the house and a person booked to fit it this weekend :(

But I don't want to risk scratching or damaging the bath and be unable to return it if I end up having to. So can anyone recommend a type of cleaning product... I assume a surface marking needs a slightly abrasive cleaner like a polish, but it needs to stay shiny rather than dull the glossy finish.

Any tips most appreciated!

Acrylic Baths are normally protected by a cling film layer,
I ask the obvious, are you sure you have removed it completely .

You will remove the surface gloss, I would take it back/talk to supply.

Well done. :D

I had a customer who complained when I was fitting in the new bath that it was not shiny, and had ripples on it,
They didnt believe me when I told them it was covered in cling film,

I could only tell once I took the cardboard off... it was totally impossible to see it on the main interior of the bath.

Saved me some embarrassment or extra charge for un-needed return anyhow :)
