I see in my local shed that they are stocking a new style patent pending MT hawk with an adjustable handle to allow for the hawk to rest on the forearm. Around 25 quid. Anyone got one and if so what's the verdict?

I've seen them and can't see any purpose for them whatsover, apart from giving you arm ache, a wet and chaffed arm and and possibly RSI

They are presumably designed for those people who have not learnt to take the stuff off the op of the hawk (not the bottom), and rotate if needs be for the next biit.

Is that the same people that can lace their boots up in the morning but can't undo them at night.

It sounds entirely restrictive and as such a waste of time. In my limited experience, you need a hawk to be shuffled around quite freely, rotated in all directions and planes. Anything that slows this down will lose spreading time, and time is of the absolute essence.

Probably designed by someone in an office somewhere whose experience extends to watching handiman hints on youtube

On another note - have you noticed how laces are rubbish now? They keep coming undone uless double knot cos they are some kind of woven stuff.

And kids football boots always come with the laces too short- I coach kids football and if it wasn't for the Welfare issues, I'd staple the boots on them
