Hi all,

Before I had my bathroom tiled, I masking taped plastic liner around the top of my bath to stop water flowing down the sides. Now tiling is completed, I thought I would commence the easy task of removing this tape residue. How wrong could I have been!! This stuff is welded and I mean WELDED on!

Does anyone have any ideas or tips on how I can remove this without damamaging the bath?

Cheers! :D

Try some hot water.

Or

Nail varnish remover/cellulose thinners. Again test a bit first especially if the bath is plastic as solvents can/will damage the finish.

Spray furniture polish over the glue residue, assuming the tape backing has come off, leave for about 10/15 mins then wipe clean with a dry cloth, repeat if necessary. If this does not work then I'm sorry I'm all out of ideas.

Use something like white spirit or WD40. Don't use solvents like acetone or cellulose thinner.
