Be cautious with your terms: what you have is paint applied to masonry.
"Masonry paint" is a special kind of paint that should be applied to, guess what, masonry.
Modern remedial work often seems to be calling for whats called "plastic" paints to be removed from masonry.
Masonry paint & plastic paint are different animals.
Plastic paints should not be used on external masonry - probably best to keep them off internal masonry as well.
