We have moved our staircase to a new location, and are adding the regained space to make the second bedroom bigger.

The problem we have is that the current floor joists measure 153mm x 52mm (2" x 6"), but the joists we ordered from Wickes the closest we got was 145mm x 45mm, so they sit lower than the old ones.

What is the best cure to this, can we put something underneath them to lift it by the 8mm, or maybe something on top? What would be our best option?

Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. What would be the best material to use for that? I had thought before about using more C16, cutting a 8mm slice to go under it?
