Hi all, this is my first post and was hoping someone can help. I have to replace some existing skirting boards due to some work being done on parts of a couple of rooms. The current skirting boards are the Torus variety but the problem I am having is there seems to be a number of variations and sizes of the same thing. I have been to a number of stores, including Wicks, B&Q and I've also gone online and paid for a sample from Planet Skirting, all of which are different to my own. I've attached a drawing of what I have and so my question is, does anyone know where I can source this exact profile? Many thanks, Paul.

Thanks shaggybawz, unfortunately the profile is different ;)

Bit of a pain, I generally replace the smallest room/area and use what I've removed for the rest of the house.

Thanks cdbe, unfortunately the previous owners thought it a good idea to put naff LEDs along the skirting boards, another reason for replacing some of them.

Try all your local builders and timber merchants - if the job was done by a tradesman, he would almost have certainly used a local suppler.

if you get no joy, give up and renew the whole room

I’ts a common problem - there’s no standard, manufacturers just use whatever profile they think is right and get cutters to suit.

There’s nothing to say a merchant wouldn’t change suppliers, they often chop and change based on price

Hi Notch7, thanks for your reply, unfortunately, it's more than one room so I'd be looking at replacing almost the entire house which is not really an option based upon the rooms and their sizes. Thanks anyway.

You either need to replace or mismatch. Id be choosing the former.

you then have 2 choices:

1) use the nearest profile and accept the mismatch at the corners -different heights arent an issue, just get a taller one and cut down

2) get some made to match -but expect a £200 setup charge for a set of cutters + limiters to be ground

Jewsons used to make custom profiles- take a chunk along, they'll need a sample to set the machine up. I last did this 12 years ago, setup charge was £40 and price/metre was about £8 (it was 220mm board, very fancy).
Or Google Torus router cutter, there'll be a match somewhere
