Matt or Silk

Hi,
just had some plastering done bathroom ceiling and utility wall first coat on new plaster is if I am correct a 20% mix of emulsion. I have some white dulux silk emulsion just wondered if that would do the trick.

Be better with a matt emulsion. The silk has more vinyl in it and tends to seal it rather than penetrate the surface. Matt is better for the subsequent coats to adhere too.
