Found this at a job today in a mini rcd unit with only 1 mcb. The load was fed from 'bottom' of mcb and supply in at top. I changed it over anyway as it was easy, but out of curiosity would the mcb have detected any over current anyway regardless of how it was wired??

MCB's don't have an in and an out.. if they did they would be marked as such..

some CU's have the live bar at the top, some have it at the bottom.. it all depends..

AC is bi-directional anyway - the electrons flowing through your MCB will change direction 100 times a second.
