MDF v Plyboard

I wish to build a bench on castors to handle items including table saw, mitre saw and thicknesser/plane I have plans for a plyboard version, would mdf be suitable as well?

Could use either, I'd use ply. If using mdf I'd double up the top.
 
Use thick ply for the table top surface. You'd be surprised at how badly MDF gets scores and gouges out of it, not to mention an innacurate blow with a chisel or the like.
 
Rotor - use either, both up to the job. Tip - make the top of your unit removable 'cos it is going to mark & wear, then all you have to do is swap it for a new one.
