Me old boiler

I

Igorian

is fine, but not sure about my Potterton Statesman flowsure :)

I've recently topped it up and noticed that when it's on, the pressure now rises to just about 2bar. Is this a little high or still ok as it used to go to about 1.5bar? Does this indicate a drop in pressure in the expansion vessle and, if so, what's the recommended procedure for adding more pressure?

Many thanks

Still sounds within the normal working parameters.

To check the EV drain the boiler, leave a drain cock open, test the EV pressure, should be approx 0.8-1.0 Bar.

If necessary top up, then re-fill system.

if when testing pressure water comes out of the valve, it is knackered and needs a new EV.

See FAQ's for more thorough test procedure etc.

Also, before replacing the Exp vessel, check the flexible pipe connecting it is not blocked.

Good grammar?
