I purchased a bag of hardwall this evening to bring the exposed bricks after removing a chimney brest level with the rest of the wall before applying sound proofing boards.

Reading the instructions on the bag it is very explict that the product should only be hand mixed. Are they having a laugh or do you really need to mix hardwall by hand?

Perhaps they are suggesting that you shouldn't put it in a cement mixer??

But as with any plaster, dont run the mixing paddle too fast or you'll aerate it & don't overmix or it'll go off on you too quickly.

i think you have just misread the instructions on the bag it says to mix by hand or mechanical mixer,
but to avoid over mechanical mixing, and that would be for the reason rich c says
