So its heated just by the immersion heater?
If so, check the switch is on for the immersion and that the fuse/contact breaker in your fuseboard hasnt tripped.
Anything after that, you'll need an electrical test meter. Come back after you've checked the above.

Dont some of the megaflow immersions have a cutout button under the cover??

It isnt the immersion, its the Megaflo safety cut out.. this is usually wired into the boiler circuit to cut the boiler if the Megaflo tank goes over temp.
I guess it could be wired into the immersion to provide the same facility - never seen it done though.
