I just want to clarify the 'Loop' settings on the MFT1552 I have.

Single phase - If I was checking Zs on a RCD or non-RCD protected circuit I would put it on 'NO TRIP', or if I was checking Ze I could put it on 'NO TRIP'. (using red, black & green wires for testing)

Single phase & 3 phase - If I was checking Zs on a non-RCD protected circuit only I would put it on 'HI', or if I was checking Ze I could put it on 'HI' aswell. (using red & green wires for testing)

For checking PFC I could put it either on 'NO TRIP PFC' or 'HI PFC' & for checking PSCC I put it on 'HI PFC'

Can any other MFT1552 users tell me what they use.

Thanks.

The manual came on a disk which I printed out. I've done a complete test on my house & all the results were within the limits. Just wanted to double check I was doing the 'LOOP' bit right, that was all.

Norv,

Single phase - Zs (non-rcd protected) I use the two lead (green & red) or plug lead 'Hi Loop' test, as I believe it gives a more accurate reading. Two lead 'HI Loop' for Ze. (As an aside, try using both two and three lead methods on the same non-rcd circuit and it's quite alarming how the results can differ sometimes  !)
Rcd protected circuits - three lead 'No Trip' method, though often it still does trip a 6A mcb.

Regards,
Ants
