Hi,

I have just installed a new immersion heater and wired it up. Neutral to element, live to thermostat. The wire from thermostat to element (already fitted in unit) is slowly melting/cracking as it is getting hot. Any ideas. I assumed that wire should be able to cope with current in circuit. All other cables are ok. Heater is a 27 inch incolloy element BEAB approved safety system, E9573.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Saleem

It is probably due to a loose connection or some other, more serious, problem.

Andrew's advice is probably your best option.
