I've got a question about MEM consumer unit busbars.
I opened one up today and found that each individual leg on the busbar consisted of a small screw and a "slither" of copper. (Totally unlike the usual ones I've dealt with). Are these easily available and what do i ask for?
Cheers.

look on mem eatons website (use google). its quite good, am sure you'l find out the info you need on there. their technical helpline isnt bad either so maybe give them a ring.

I only use MEM, and can't imagine what you mean?

Are you talking about older boards with a 'forked' busbar?

The current MEM busbars are two sizes - A smaller prong for domestic boards and a larger prong for commercial boards and TP boards. This was done so MEM could produce a cheap domestic MCB which would fit the domestic board but not the commercial, but so commercial MCB's could still fit the domestic board.

Thanks for the replies.

All sorted now. It was an old "forked" busbar. I was told a MCB for this type would have to be ordered from MEM and would take two weeks and cost around £30. I did a bit of searching around and found an alternative for £14. Better!
Thanks again.
