Does anyone know where i can get hold of the following "MEMCERT, 30amp, 250v Ceramic fuse plug" I know its a very old style but one is desperately needed.
If you can put up a picture someone might recognise it. I formerly worked for a company that rented out big office machines with a 30amp supply, there was an industrial 30A plug and socket available if they needed to be moved often. Wasn't fused though, as we asked for a 30A switchfuse to be provided adjacent.
A mem re-wireable fuse carrier? never heard it refered to as a "fuse plug" before thats all
I expect you are out of luck, if it was wylex it'd be a piece of cake as the standard boards are still made, but all I can suggest is to try ebay, unfortunatly a CU change might be your best option...
Looking at the pic, it's not that old - there are much worse ones about. I wouldn't be surpised if you can get a replacement fuseholder either from MEM, or from these Fuse specialists per my earlier link. If there is any chance of getting a holder that takes cartridge fuses, these are preferable. In a previous life I fitted new cartidge holders to replace rewirable ones in MEM switchfuses, there are millions of these installed in commercial and industrial premises.
What went wrong with the old one? Did someone drop it on a concrete floor and break it? Or was it a spectacular short-circuit?
