merch electrics problem

2002 slk 230, engine managment light on,car runs ok, had it on merchs star test computer told no supply to ecu anybody know what terminals to check to try and find a poor connection/faulty wireing before i let merch empty my bank account,or name of a indpendent garage that are good at electrics near south cumbria

You say the car runs ok, but the ecu is recieving no supply, which i take it is power?? If the ecu has no power how is the engine management system and other electrical peramiters working??
