You posted a clever way of releasing a drain cock washer through inserting a screwdriver though a hose

IIRC the idea was to poke a thin screwdriver through one side of a hose, so the end of the blade sticks out the end of the hose.

Then put the hose on the draincock outlet and use the screwdriver to fish for the washer.

I thought that is certainly worth remembering to avoid yet another sleeve full of dirty water.

Sounds like the way they insert a stent using a catheter.
