I'm putting up a fence/windbreak around the entire back garden. These metal fencing stakes seem ideal for the job given they only need to be driven and not concreted in.

Ideally, I would be able to just drive them in, and attach the windbreak mesh to them directly, or will it be necessary/preferable to attach a chain link fence first and then attach the mesh? The stakes are 2m tall and I intend to attach a 1.5m high windbreak.

Lastly, will the posts being driven down to a depth of 0.5m be sufficiently sturdy?

Cheers

What section is the angle? From the photo it looks like it could be on the lightweight side to me - typically this would be 50mm angle, galvanised, and around 5mm thick.
