Metal Light Switch

It may be very problematic trying to replace that metal box for a plastic dryline box.

The plastic box will be slightly deeper, and the wooden noggin or stud will stop it going back.

You should be able to salvage the old box, by giving the lugs a slight pinch with pliers, then re-threading with a 3.5mm tap.

The one in the picture on POST NUMBER 13 looks like a 25mm one.

Best check the photo/switch in question before you buy.

Yeh that was the wrong one haha, so just going to swap for the metal 16mm one.

Thanks for your help guys, like i say ive put all earths to faceplate earth nut then a wire from that to metal backbox as im more cautious about the faceplate being properly earthed with backbox as a secondary.

I know most people said wire from backbox to face plate but i just felt more reassured the opposite way round, either way it sounds like its earthed safely now so crisis over!
