We live in a 1960 bungalow on the south edge of Central Networks area. Over the past 5 years most of the wiring has been replaced / updated. I believe all the fundamentals of our wiring are in good order ..... RCD CU, back boxes earthed, lighting circuits have an earth, bathroom and kitchen pipes bonded etc etc.
The Central Networks 'meter move' documenation includes a form for an electrician to sign stating that the propety is wired to Part P .... I guess no self respecting electrician is going to put his name to that unless he has crawled over everything and corrected all those little details. Whist I fully understand why CN would take the opportunity to ensure the property is signed off as safe by a professional it appears a little OTT to insist on Part P? I called Central Networks and asked the question and they say a safety certificate is fine.
My questions .... Does anyone have any experience of doing similar? What is the difference between full 'Part P' and a 'Saftey Certificate' (if any) ... any other advice greatfully received
