As far as calibration of the meter, The man clearly said it's passed all test prior and this was the 44the test of about 50 test.
So that's got me pondering

To give you an idear, when an 1553 comes out of the factory, Megger only perform 30 tests on it to confirm all its ranges.

Well either the calibrator was trying to impress me (which i'm not) or he was performing other things on my meter, while I was out of the room!

Anyway, I've got my number and returned meter to Megger, said it would be about 7 days and I'd have it back.
A little annoying and frustrating it's happened, but first hand experience of Megger's after sales service has given me a new confidence that not all companies are purely after your money and then turn there back on you, when there's a problem. :D

As I said.....

I wouldn't worry about it, Megger are great..

My 1502 bust, I sent it back (I had to pay outgoing postage) and got it back within 14 days in the ABS case with new batteries and leads... look as good as new

Looks very much like the same deal, I've paid outgoing postage £6.00 1st class and they said 7 days. I assume that will be 7 working days and I should have it back, they are also going to cert it for me. :D
