MHRV Ducting - Metal or plastic?

I am going to install a MHRV system in my new house. I hope to do the installation myself and was wondering whether it is better to use plastic or galvanised ducting.

Anybody got any views on which lasts longer / is easier to fit / is cheaper / quieter etc.?
