In my very small kitchen there is an FCU from a single socket below the worktop which is used for a freezer unit. As there is very limited worktop space I have mounted my microwave unit on brackets above the worktop. There are no 13amp sockets above the worktop on that side of the kitchen. What is the simplest way to connect the microwave to the supply. I have moderate DIY skills.

You can add a 13A socket on the switched side of the FCU. Unless your microwave is a monster it'll be fine with the freezer.

I used half round trunking in mothers house to get cables to new area, there are loads of methods to make wiring look neat,
shopping
dado trunking for example, although expensive, you need to look at caravans to see how to set out a small kitchen, in mothers house I used grid switch system, that allowed me to combine a socket, fuse holder, and switch in one double socket back box, but it is unclear if your looking at how to electrical get a supply or physically get the supply.

Some times FCU is supplied from a socket, to power for example a cooker hood, but in the main used other way around, pictures are good, often supplies can be hidden using the wall cupboards etc. Google "half round trunking" and see the options.
