I am told I need to remove the lid on a Miele 460 in order to renew a door seal. I have removed the two torx screws at the rear of the lid but there is something holding it firm at the front and I cannot see what. Advice please.

If the flanges from which you have removed the screws are flush and vertical with the back of the machine, then the lid must go backwards, and normally a hefty thump on the leading edge will displace it sufficiently for you to see what to do next.

If it is then undo the side screws (under the white caps) and knock the lid rear wards.
