I need to replace the seal on this Samsung washing machine and so I need to remove the top lid to get at the retainer. All the videos online show two screws at the rear and then push the lid back to remove. So I've taken out the 2 screws at the rear but it seems like the top is still being held on at the front and it won't just push back and open.
Anyone know how to do this please?

Thanks in advance for your help.

All the washing machines I've come across, have some sort of metal 'hook on to a lip' system for the front. Try lifting the top slightly at the rear edge, and giving the top a thump, in the direction of the front, to unhook it.

Replacement, is a matter of putting the top in place, but an inch forward, then giving it a thump towards the rear, so it hooks back on.

Thanks for the input but I've pulled, pushed, thumped etc. and I'm convinced it's held on at the front.

Try again...

If the two screws fit in from the back, through a lip on the lid. Take out those two screws, lift that lip clear of the machine, and push/thump the lid hard towards the front of the machine.

You were right of course!

It took a lot of force and a lot of wriggling and a big flat blade screwdriver but it came off in the end! I don't know why it didn't just pop off like on the videos.

Theres always one step that holds you up, the rest of the job went fine.
