Miele G646 dishwasher stopping

I have come across a confusing intermittent problem on the machine mentioned in the title
switch the dishwasher on and it
Drains
Fills
the motor starts , then it just stops, leaving inlet and otlet light flashing

checked the motor it works fine and no debris inside the housing
the flood sensor is not activating as the water isn't drained

it used to happen once every 3 months , then every 3 weeks , then every 3 days, now its every other time

any ideas

If the circulation pump is good then it sounds like a pressure loss someplace or a defective level switch. Either would cause the program to abort & signal inlet/outlet error. When you check the level switch also check that the non-return valve isn't sticking.

After more then 10 years of service my miele g 646 did exactly the same.

I found out that it wasn't filling enough water.

I fixed it by extending the time the machine is filling water. This procedure is described in the user manual. This feature is normally used for when the water pressure is under 1 bar, but in this case it fixed my problem.
