Miele HEPA 5280

Miele 5280 HEPA hoover, hoover packed up, checked and power supply up to motor. Black and brown wires have 240v on them so Im suspecting the motor . If this is the case can any one confirm my suspicions and is there any way of testing the motor ?...... and is the part expensive??
I am a boiler repair guy so I am au fait with electrics etc just thought Id get an expert opinion.

even though you paid £200 for it, i guess its time to bin it and buy a cheaper one. (henry)

I looked at some miele spares places and they dont do the motor

mind you, you could always save up and get a Kirby, they come to you to fix it.
