Hi,

I am looking to position a ladder to access a small attic space, but was wondering if there is any minimum requirements for head height at the top of the ladder & size for such things?

I am aware that there are such things for stairs in the Scottish Building Regs, but I am struggling to find such details for the ladders. Is there a general rule of thumb for such thing?

Any help/suggestions/thoughts as to where to look would be appreciated

a ladder is a temporary situation as such common sense is involved[safe working pratices]

The ladder in question is meant to be a loft ladder, I am just wondering if there are any particular guidelines for the siting of one in relation to the head height needed to get into the attic.

no head height regulations as it not a habitable area its just a storage area
