Friday 20th July. Lovely Day!

I opened the garage door to find Four inches of wateron th e floor. Water has poured into one airbrick under the kitchen floor. Now i has that lovely musty smell in the kitchen.

Q/ How can i speed up the drying out process. There are six air bricks on the house Two front, Two Back and Two in Garage. All are unblocked.

Q/ If i attach a Blower to one of the airbricks will this help or hinder the process

if you can lift some floorboards it will help.

you need ventilation (not heat)

check there is a good airflow through all the airbricks (it is possible to test with smoke)

Many thanks for the advice.

I cannot lift floorboards. The ground floor is covered with solid oak flooring.
In the kitchen some muppet tiled straight onto the floorboards with quarry tiles lovely cracks everywhere.

I will test airflow with smoke.
