Hi,
I have a shower enclosure with a Mira 88 fitted.
The knurled control beneath the face plate has seized and I was wondering is this unit worth servicing?
The unit dates from 1986 when built ,not used in recent years.
If anyone has any info on this system exploded diagrams, advice on how to take apart etc I would be most grateful. Two pics below of what is fitted. View media item 32828

Send it back to Mira - they may like it for their museum

You can get a replacement mira that will fit the existing pipes, check with Mira. I would not think it is servicable now.

yes, you can take it apart, descale it, polish up the brass moving parts, fit new rubber seals and lube with silicone grease

if you like tinkering

the service kits are quite expensive.

I would make sure you can take it apart before ordering one (it might be stuck together with scale)

As john said try taking it apart first.
the hardest part will be the cover nut to remove, they can be a bugger to shift.
