The wire above the CU is not connected. It was a possible feed to a wall light in the kitchen next door. This is a separate boiler/ meter/ CU room about 4ft square.

The green circle I think you refer to is a small sticker on previously added new RCD for a new kitchen ring. It's not a button.

The shower is completely separate from everything else - other than the feed.

The old position of the pullcord might be OK. It depends how high the ceiling is above floor level. The zones in a bath/shower room only extend up to 2.25m. It's OK for the actual cord to be inside a zone, so long as the body of the switch is outside it. Hence my question about the ceiling height.

Of course, there is nothing stopping you from doing more than the regs require.
