I was wondering if you need a special type of mirror (backing) for a bathroom mirror?

I have just bought one to stick to my sall with mirror adhesive, and will also be using a mirror demisting pad, but am not sure if standard mirror backing (in this case green) is OK for bathroom environments?

I wan't remember, but I thought my last one I got in my old house had a foil backing on it?

I had the same issue a few months back. I took the mirror to a glass/mirror merchants and they said mine (with a silver backing) was OK. If it had not had been they would have put on a suitable backing for a few quid (amount unspecified but I got the impression it would have been less than a tenner).
