Mismatched Floorboard Heights

I recently removed an old built in wardrobe from a bedroom and found the floor in the condition shown in the picture. The boards shown which are higher than the tongue and groove boards, go underneath the wall (blockwork) to the bedroom next door so can't be removed. I'm planning to re-carpet the floor and the area directly above these boards will be a desk.

Looking for some advice on how I can reduce the effect of the height difference between the main bedroom floor and these 6 boards. One though was I could pack underneath one end of theT&G boards to raise the height a little so the step is less pronounced? But open to other ideas!

Thanks!

Multiool, cut them out at the wall and firm up underneath (noggins) and fit right thickness boards...

Remove with multi tool or chop out plaster. Then lower the joist (you can see it has been fixed too high from the right of the pic. If you multitool the short boards out you may need to fix an additional support against the wall.
