Hi I have been fitting a shower cubicle and come across several problems the latest one that I just can't solve is a leak from the mixer shower that I have fitted. I have tightened the joints as much as possible and used pdf tape but still there is a leak can anyone suggest anything.

Many thanks in advance

personally i would turn off water supply and undo all joints and carefully check to see if you might have cross threaded one of the joints put back together and see what happens. ;) peachy

Where is it leaking exactly?
What are you doing with the ptfe tape?

the leak was where the mixer shower is attahced to the water pipes. It is possible that we have solved the problem by using joint compound? I think thats what it is called....anyway the leak appears to have gone...fingers crossed

I hope the leak has gone!

I assume you are referring to a compression joint. For future reference you don't want to use ptfe tape on these, though as you say a jointing compound (Swan Seal for example) will usually gaurantee it is leak free.
