Hi,

Have started having intermittent problems with hot water in shower. Shower is run off a single lever mixer tap. When tap is turned to slightly cooler temperature on occasions this seems to completely turn off hot water from combi. The hot water only returns if tap is switched off and switched on full again. Just wandered if this is an issue with the single lever reducing the flow from hot tap or a boiler issue. Prior to using the Single lever we had a standard twin tap mixer and had no issues. Boiler is a Ideal independent C30 recently serviced. Hot water is ok on other taps.
Thanks

Sounds like an issue with the mixer to me. Is it suited to a combi? Is it a high flow mixer?
Id look it up online if you don't still have the booklet and check it's working requirements.

Agreed, start with the mixer tap, if it's working requirements are correct, then check it's not blocked up inside, if new pipework was installed when changed over was it flushed through prior to installing the mixer head or filters.

Then also check (if applicable) the single lever was fitted centrally to the mixer head.
Good luck.
