Hi, I have fitted a mixer tap in a worktop but it came loose.
I then bought a slightly larger diameter one to hopefully fit better, applied a sealant to all parts and re fitted.
The only problem is because of the thread fixed at one side, the worktop is slightly compressed there.

It seems like all taps are designed this way ?

I wondered if I were to swap the funny shaped washer underneath to the opposite side away from the tails in a sort of cantilever that might help even out the pressure to push the other side of the tap down ?

There are monobloc tap stabilisers/ support kits available . Basically to strengthen the clamping of the tap to sink or worktop.
Also known as "tap braces'
