Hi the above mentioned car suffers from over fuelling in cold weather. Have read that if you wire a 47K ohm resistor in parallel with the ECT it tells the ECU it needs less fuel. Does anyone Know how to do this and exactly what type of resistor to buy.many thanks.

Its the two pin sensor, so across the two pins, but I haven't heard that fix before? Try taking the sensor out and ensure its getting coolant and not choked with dirt. Even a new sensor might be more worthwhile?

Hi I have tested ECT in hot water with a thermometer all OK according to manual. across the two pins would that still be in parallel ? thanks.

Also unknown to me, and I'd be inclined to follow Mursals advice.
47K seems a bit high, but I guess a 1W resistor across the pins is what's meant.

Yes across the two pins will be in parallel with the sensor
