Mobile, not dialing certain numbers

Way back when, I had a company mobile, which strangely, simply refused to dial a certain w/salers number - not the cell, it was the same anywhere in the county. My own Iphone, seems to have a similar issue, with some numbers. I enter the number, press the green button to get it to dial, then nothing, complete silence. I switched it from internet dialling, to mobile - the same result. Tried dialling my landline, which worked just fine. It's happened three times, in as many weeks, with different numbers. Any ideas why?

Are you dialling the number without an area code? That would work from a landline (in the same area code), but not from a mobile.

Are you missing off a leading 0?

No, not that, and not a blocked number. Today, it was an 0800 number, I managed to find an alternative geo number for the call.

Maybe ask your mobile network provider?

It might be your mobile payment plan. If you have a ' fixed payment amount ' contract ( e.g. £5.00 per month Lebara etc) it will have unlimited minutes, but it won't let you phone or text premium numbers, and some 0800 numbets.
