Hi
I have a MK3 mondeo petrol and seems to be a prob with the diff. Great in a straight line but becomes a kangaroo in corners. One wheel stops turning so assuming its the diff.
Can this be removed without taking out the gearbox ??.
Thanks
Dave

MK3 mondeo = FWD ? So doesn't have a diff. The driveshaft is dislocated/splines grated on lock?

Of course it has a diff, it's in the gearbox. It doesn't have a rear axle.

Hi all, only started on this forum so be kind. It has a diff alright in the gearbox and it will have to come out to get at the diff, as far as I know.

All road vehicles have a differential - without one it would be nigh on impossible to turn corners.....try a ride on a solid axle quad bike if you don't believe me
As for the Mondeo problem, either there is a gearbox issue or maybe a driveshaft one - but if the gearbox is suspect then it needs to be dropped out of the car and preferably a replacement box fitted.
John :)
