From the BBC website
'Over eight million homes on benefits in the UK are set to receive £326 by the end of July, with a further £324 payment in the autumn.'

The treasury must've done some serious searching deep in their sofas to find that...

To give you something else to moan about maybe?
There's always something to moan about, isn't there. Someone will pop up and moan the measure's don't go far enough; another will complain the government is handing out money and another will go on about tax rises to pay for it, while somebody else will whine about tax cuts being necessary to get the economy going.
There's no easy answer but Notch has a point: the government is desperate to avoid further tax rises affecting the people on benefits and especially on fuel duty. The last thing they need is angry truckers clogging up the roads. And the projected increase in the energy price cap is eye-watering compared to last year.
BoJo will be wading through all this come the end of summer - and more.
Why anyone would want to be PM is baffling.

They were probably hoping to use money saved by sending illegal immigrants to Rwanda. Thanks to UK haters, this money may no longer be available, so don't go spending your "Boris Bonus" yet.

How is sending refugees to Rwanda going to save the UK taxpayer money?
Among the boat people today were an Afghan, an Egyptian, an Iraqi and an Albanian: how does sending any one of those nationalities to Rwanda help anybody? Or are they just sending Africans back?

Or are they just sending Africans back?
At the moment they are sending no one to Rwanda, but are still taking in more migrants, another 440 odd today. More than 10,000 this year, so you can see why I am quite sceptical about anyone getting a "Boris Bonus" as the new gimmigrants will cost us more. People fail to grasp the fact that although the Government hands out the money willy nilly, it is not their money, it is mine, yours and any other tax payers money, and I am getting pi55ed off about it.
